What do we do in the baby studies?

We study how infants perceive and remember objects. In our tests, we show them different short cartoons and we would like to know which ones will babies find interesting. We measure the amount of time they spend looking at them. Using this method, we can find out what kind of expectations babies have about the world.

Here is an example of the cartoons that we use in our 6-month-old animation study: Color Change study

To view this movie, you need to have Shockwave Player installed on your computer. You can download this free program HERE.

Our study is approved by the Institutional Review Board of UMass Boston. We will ask you to sign our Consent Form before the test.
